Terms of Reference

  1. To monitor and review the delivery and support for ethical research conduct at College level
  2. To receive complex cases referred by College Ethics Committees for higher consideration and appeals
  3. To maintain appropriate data on all ethical research processes, procedures and activities
  4. To report annually to the Research & Enterprise Committee on all aspects of research ethics

Monitoring and Management

UREC stands alongside the provision for ethical conduct relating to academic policies, processes and regulations, and will be reviewed every five years by the Research & Enterprise Committee.

UREC will serve to resolve challenges to ethical research conduct that may not be resolved at College level, in conjunction with the Academic Registrar and the procedures for academic misconduct managed by the Academic Affairs Committee.
