Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Publication Scheme

All public authorities covered by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 are required to adopt the model publication scheme approved by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

As a public authority under the Act, the University of Lincoln is committed to making information available to the public as part of its normal business activities.

What is a publication scheme?

A publication scheme is a document listing classes of information which are accessible to the public.

What is in the publication scheme?

The model publication scheme specifies seven classes of information under which routinely published information should be made available.

These classes are as follows:

  1. Who are we and what do we do
  2. What we spend and how we spend it
  3. What our priorities are and how we are doing
  4. How we make decisions
  5. Our policies and procedures
  6. Lists and registers
  7. The services we offer

How to access information in the publication scheme

Further details about each class and the information the University publishes can be accessed by clicking on any of the links above. Where possible, information included in our publication scheme is accessible via the University’s website. However, if information included in the scheme is not available on the website, relevant contact details are provided.

Information which is published and accessed via the University’s website will be provided free of charge. Where information is provided in hard copy, charges may be made for disbursements (for example photocopying, postage and packing). If a charge is made, confirmation of the payment due will be given before the information is provided and payment may be requested prior to information being provided.

Under the Freedom of Information Act information that is not included in the publication scheme can also be requested. A request for information should be made in writing to:
