Temporary Regulations and Variations to Regulations (Covid-19 enforced)

The University put the below Temporary Regulations into place to support its operations and students during the Covid-19 pandemic and were applied during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years only.

The Safety Net Mark Regulation remains published but is now applicable to just a small cohort of students. This will largely only be a small number of Integrated Masters students and some students who had interrupted their studies but already held assessment results that would contribute to their final classification which were obtained within years impacted by Covid-19) The Regulation will therefore be applied to these individuals only, where appropriate, at the 2021-22 Examination Boards.

Where students are enrolled on programmes that have a programme start date which is not in line with the start of the ‘normal’ academic year (i.e. Postgraduate Taught students who commenced studies in February 2021) then it is considered that the Covid-19 Regulatory Provision which applied to all students for the 2020-21 academic year will apply to those students until 51 weeks after the point of enrolment (in the example above, the Regulatory provision will apply to these students until February 2022).
